That there is no perfect defense. There is no protection. Being alive means being exposed; it’s the nature of life to be hazardous—it’s the stuff of living.

Direct message

Just goes to show that russians have had (until recently) relatively easy access to independent information within a few clicks on their smartphones.

I will also note that many reliable news organizations (BBC, DW) started their russian language YT news programs as far back as 2010. This is also true for well regarded local independent news (TV Dozdh).

I would honestly rather just try it with an account to get a more in-depth perspective.

I’ve been meaning to check it out, just haven’t bothered yet. A little bit ironic considering I took the time to switch from reddit to lemmy. Just goes to show the enormous power of switching costs when it comes to user acquisition. :)

Thanks for sharing the link, will need to have a read.

I’ve been meaning to try out Piefed, but honestly I am waiting for it to become a bit more mature.

Can’t hurt to make an alt just to test it out though.

The ability to not only have different UIs, but even different approach is a critical strength of the fediverse, although I feel it needs a critical number of DAUs (and donations) to really take off.

In terms of overall platform, I don’t really see any alternatives to the fediverse.

The oceans are very big place though even the context of 4 million cubic meters per annum (assuming a 25% oil coverage target).

I am not saying we should give up on all other approaches, but it might worth considering this as part of a toolkit.

If the CO2 minerals are actually inert, this could be a relatively viable approach.

I do think we have consider multiple approaches, because we are clearly not meeting CO2 emission reduction targets.

and have it available for under 300

This is not happening. The 5060 will be gimped to upsell the 5060 Ti. Rumours/leaks suggest the 5060 will have 8GB VRAM.

Haha. I believe the AMD Instinct / Nvidia Datacentre GPUs aren’t that great for gaming.
