I wish I had the know-how to make a chrome extensions that would turn all instances of “lol” on a page into a picture of a TIE Fighter, play the iconic flyby sound when the picture is moused over and exploded when clicked.

It’s about ease of use. If there are two very similar communitites both with decent amount of content that interests you, you want to follow both and you don’t want to think about which is which. You don’t care. You want the content.

Someone posted it, maybe in r/piracy, and I signed up. Didn’t give any thought to which instance I was signing up for because I didn’t understand the fediverse well enough yet lol.
