no, you did not look at the facts. Basic history teaches us that the US has always been aggressing and sabotaging Cuba for not wanting to be a glorified sugar colony anymore. Official Documents show that the reason the US has put the embargo on cuba was to specifically starve the people, to impoverish the lands for the possiblitiy of a counter-revolution and before you say “uh well cuz cuba has soviet missiles therefore the people should starve” The US had missiles in Italy and Turkey before. The US bombs countries around the world in the name of “democracy” establishes business-friendly dictatorships in south-america and intervenes in elections meanwhile cuba sends Doctors around the world to countries who lack medical personal but somehow Cuba is the “threat” and needs to be starved down in order to obey to its grand-master again. You cannot call Cuba undemocratic because Fidel and the revolutionairies had majority support from the people with people to this day democratically voting for policies for example the cuban family code in which 66 percent of the people voted for the legalization of same-sex-marriage and other making cuba one of the most progressive latin american countries. I guess you can argue “b-but atleast we are not ruled by a one party system” while the truth being, yes you are: both the democrats and republicans are two sides of the same coin and that is the capitalist coin, they both bomb children in the middle-east and have and are always going to take profits before people. i love when liberals pull the commie brainwash card, as if we dont already live in a capitalist dominated world where people are taught that capitalism is the only viable economic system. Be it in a TV-series, in the News, in the Radio, in documentaries…pretty much every media-outlet when mentioning socialism treats it as a failed, murderous joke and nothing else…it is presented to us, without explanation most of the time, that socialism is evil, undemocratic, killed 100 Gorbachovillian people and that capitalism is the only economic system that “works”. i cant with this people, they are the real spoiled ones taking everything they got in socialist states for granted and complain how hard they had it: “uh it was so hard, we did not have oranges? Can you believe that??? how can a society possibly function without oranges, literally 1984” I give you the choice:
A: live in a society where human rights like housing, food and clothing are treated as such and the vast majority of peoples needs are met (no oranges)
or
B: live in a society where you need to pay for your human rights and where only the rich can carefree finance their lives without sinking in unpayable debt while homeless people roam the streets and get beaten by the police for being poor (with oranges)
