I’m so pissed that only 2 phone makers kept the headphone jack, even fairphone ditched it because they sell wireless earbuds.

One of the many reasons I am glad I don’t own a car. Touchscreens are only useful for navigation stuff, everything else should be with physical buttons so you could operate it without looking away from the road for even a fraction of a second.

I don’t have notification enabled on most of my apps. I will check on them when I want, but I hate seeing or hearing notifications because they are distracting me. If something is urgent, call me, otherwise it can wait.

Judge: It’s ‘weren’t’ not ‘wasn’t’ ya noob.

Lawyer: Sorry.

Judge: Now write it a hundred times.

I don’t know much about iOS, since I haven’t used an iPhone since 2010, but I do enjoy that granular control on android as well. Along side with Do Not Disturb mode, these are major quality of life feature that is far more beneficial than a nicer camera or a 120hz display could ever be.

These notifications are there so you will spend more time scrolling through their app, so they will occupy more of your limited mental space and social interactions, and serve you more ads/harvest more data about you to sell to info brokers and advertisrs.

Well said. I’m going to use that line in the future.

I find that for many niche topics, the communities are pretty empty and inactive, which was the reason I loved Reddit in the first place. Hopefully with more users it will become mainstream.

Reeducation camps are not voluntary, these groups are voluntary ones; there is nothing wrong with helping people to leave their cults when they show interest in leaving.

For ground beef, the best solution is to make sure you have enough fat to get good browning. People usually say 80/20 ratio, but I like to have 25% fat on my burger patties. As an experiment, try making a patty with lean meat and you will see how much the moisture will evaporate rapidly and take the heat away from the meat, giving you a sad grey meat. With enough fat, it will keep conducting heat into the crust without boiling all the water inside; as a bonus, you get juicy burgers this way.
