I really, really hate that so many people still try to share ebooks as PDFs. Why that was ever a thing makes no sense to me. Yes, I absolutely wish to read a 500 page novel on portrait letter size pages with tiny font that completely ignores my screen size.

Really? I must have had a particularly troublesome PDF. It was almost like running it through OCR, generating hundreds of weird typos and formatting errors when I tried to convert with calibre.

Just be aware that on multiple occasions having my profile set to private has broken multiplayer, specifically friends being able to find and join me in several games. I think it’s really dumb how privacy settings seemingly have in-game effects, but it is what it is.

Ended up just making a separate steam account. Though on my steamdeck it ‘helpfully’ shows recent updates for all games for all accounts on the device even if they aren’t logged in, which is annoying.

There’s also the aspect of control. They’d rather start up a non-profit so they can distribute the money in a way they still control rather than share the value their employees truly generate simply because this keeps that control with them. They’d rather people get their help from their charities than make it so they didn’t need the charity it at all.

I’m not sure where I even alluded to the government? I was talking about how so called billionaire philanthropists rob money from regular people and then hide behind the fact that they give it to charity as if that somehow makes it ok.

They know they aren’t able to horde all of our money to themselves so they give part of it away, but most of us seem to miss the fact that even if what they’re doing as a non-profit is good, the only reason they can do so is because they deprived regular folks of their rightfully earned value. It is a form of power to be in charge of a major non-profit, offering them outsized influence on others lives and increased connections to avenues of power.

The games are hidden on steamdeck as well. The steamdeck store homepage ignores the hidden setting when displaying the ‘recently updated’ category (or at least it did a few months ago, haven’t checked in awhile)

Any suggestions? Even the good ones had error rates that might not matter for a couple of pages, but when scaled to a 500 page book, even a 1% error rate results in an annoying level of typos.

An ‘unrelated third party’ would do it

If more people went to jail for ignoring issues or covering them up we’d see less of this kind of thing taking so long to get resolved.
