Sadly i checked in on the Apollo sub and there’s a lot of hate on there for Lemmy. Not sure if people fully understand it or they are just fighting the inevitable change that is coming lol. But it def. reminds me of the digg meltdown and how people were hellbent that reddit sucked and wouldn’t last and was too difficult to use… lol change is hard sometimes but it’s life.
Because Reddit has fully turned to the dark side lol. It’s been trending downhill for a while now but with the recent API shenanigans it became very clear it wasn’t going to improve. So here I am lol. Wouldn’t be the first time I’ve had to find an alt (RIP Digg).
The complaints are all over the place so likely coming from people that either A.) haven’t actually used Lemmy. B.) Used it for .5 seconds got confused and gave up. C.) Are just afraid of change and just wanna stick their heads in the sand…
But most of them center around how difficult lemmy is to use and how “communities are way too overbearing with the rules.” , that it uses the new.reddit UI, and that it’s run by a bunch of “tankies”

Been on Mastodon for a few months (suck it twitter) and with Reddit’s recent money grab figured I’d check out other parts of the fediverse.
As a Blue Jackets fan I hate this.
I hate the official app with the fire of 1,000 suns. So if my only options are using the official app or leaving the site completely I’m leaving completely✌️

Hopefully their plan has backfired. Early voting in Ohio has far exceeded expectations for this special election. I believe they were hoping it would be low turn out based on previous August elections. So far it appears they vastly underestimated how many people were paying attention. If you’re in Ohio and haven’t voted yet get to it!
