Made some notes in another place when I watched it. Might as well put them here as well

Yes there is some D&D bashing but on the lighter side. And not the focus but rather used a comparison and baseline for the discussion.

Enthusiastic. But then OSP are always enthusiastic.
-
They brought in an irregular guest who really, really likes to talk about rpgs.
-
Good spread and variety on system recommendations. Begun with combat heavy (Lancer, Wyrdwood Ward and Panic at the Dojo) and are now talking about PbtAs (WorldWide Wrestling, Legacy and blades is coming up).
-
Found one system I really need to play - Panic at the Dojo

Had a big rant about “forever GM whine”. Talked how the “burden” could be mitigated and shared. But very ranty.
-Felt the pace slowed down and they started to drag things out. Partly because they got into a series of systems I’m not too interested in, really narrative and often GM-less games. Wanderhome, Bleak Spirit, Good Society and Miss Bernburg’s Finishing School for young ladies. Just not my cup of tea. But the very creative presenters had lots to say about these systems.
-
Some sections towards the end about game engines and rpg designing.

Lightning round with another bunch of systems.
All in all well worth the two hours the video took watching.
I for one welcome our transition to non-plant beer. Time to pur ourselves fermented bee puke, aka mead.
Mead. Mead! MEAD!
Stefan Milo published a video not too long ago where he interviewed Andrés Moreno-Estrada (mentioned in the article) and Alexander Ioannidis on this topic. It’s a good easy to follow along video covering the topic.
Gravel recommendations are hard as gravel can range from pretty-much-tarmac to CHUNK. But I’ll try at least. For the record I’m riding a Canyon GRIZL, 2x10 gears and 45mm tyres. This I’m navigating on up to blue MTB trails so it is quite capable. If I would buy again I would get very similar specs except I would go for a metal frame, probably steel.
So recommendations then. I would go for a lot of gear range, on my I have about 430% and it is enough. Wouldn’t mind an additional climbing gear or two. Not sure if a high end MTB 1x system can be gotten with drop bar shifters but barring that I would go for a 2x system. The extra range really helps. For tyres I would make sure the frame can accommodate 45mm as that will allow you to go CHUNKY if needed. But some 35mm fast rolling tyres would be a good starting point if you only have light gravel. Mechanical disc breaks would most likely be enough but if you go mid-tier it will most likely be hydraulic and those are great. Suspension I wouldn’t bother with, go for more tyre instead. Oh and mounting points for EVERYTHING. Fenders, racks, bags, bottles etc. Fenders especially can be a godsend if you find yourself on slightly damp gravel, they also save the paint job. I would also try to find one with mounts for rear rack as I find a seat back sways too much. Personal preference there.
You know that meme with a guy celebrating what looks like a win but isn’t. That’s what I do. Because I must find myself awesome.
I ROCK!
Because it isn’t western cristianity and/or capitalism. No questioning what power structures comes with it, no questioning of its moralities and ethics. But there are some good things in Islam, just as there are good things in any organized religion. Negatives outweigh however, as the negatives in any organized religion outweigh the positives. Especially in proselytizing religions.
If dice is the only thing holding you back from Genesys there is the option to use one of the many dice roller apps. Not the same thing, but better than nothing.
Beyond that… It all depends on what kind of story you want to tell and how you want the game to play.
City of Mist (as also mentioned by @Shurf116@lemmy.ml )is a good option but you will have to rework its setting. As written the magic in CoM is hidden, and it has some sort of auto-hiding feature. Also the characters you play have some sort of legend awakened in them, or some myth. This legend is pulling the character towards avatarhood, becoming the legend and having it consume all their existence. Essentially game over. They are coming out with a cyberpunk edition of it that doesn’t rely on awakened legends. Tokyo: Otherscape is what you then are looking for and may fit better.
If you want something darker there is Kult, but that too puts magic and such within the hidden realm. Urban shadows if you want more intrigue, but yet again magic is hidden (I think). Or as @rev@ihax0r.com is pointing you towards - super hero RPGs. But that is not my genre and cannot really give any recommendations.
Another good time to do PvP is early mornings. Well, generally before 10am the activity is small.
